Sunday School at Grace Lutheran Church
Sunday School is a time-honored tradition in many churches, and Grace Lutheran is no different. Every Sunday morning from September to May, Sunday School classes meet at 9:15 AM. They offer classes for children ages 3 through 8th grade, and each class is individually graded so that the material is appropriate for each age group. They use the Augsburg Witness Curriculum to help acquaint children with the Bible stories and how God wants us to live. The lessons are always interactive and engaging, and the teachers make sure to include plenty of time for questions and discussion. Whether your child is just starting to learn about Christianity or has been attending Sunday School for years, they are sure to enjoy and benefit from these classes.
At Grace Lutheran Church, they believe that religious education is an important part of their mission. They have a full staff of teachers and assistants who volunteer their faith experience and skills to serve their enrolled children. Young adults assist as music leaders with younger classes. Children receive their First Holy Communion at the end of their second grade year after a period of instruction. In October of their ninth grade year, children reaffirm their Baptisms (Confirmation) after two years of classes, guidance and faith exploration with their teachers and the pastor. Their goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can explore their faith and develop a lifelong relationship with God.
Grace Lutheran Church is blessed to have a very active Congregational Life committee. This dedicated group of individuals work tirelessly throughout the year to plan and host a variety of social events that are open to the community. Whether you’re looking for a chance to connect with old friends or meet new people, there’s sure to be an event that interests you. And, of course, there are always opportunities to serve others through various volunteer projects. No matter what your interests are, Grace Lutheran Church has something for everyone!
