River Edge offers programs for children of all ages. From reading programs at the library to recreation camp in the summer to sports clinics and leagues there is definitely something for every child.
River Edge Recreation Summer Camp
One of the largest and longest running programs form the recreation department is the playground camp program. This decades long program is a highlight of the summer for borough kids for generations. The camp is run by the recreation department and runs July and August form 9:00am – 12:00pm on weekdays. The camp employs dozens of borough students as counselors making it a great way for teenagers to make some money over the summer as well. the camp runs different programs like a petting zoo, Olympics, street hockey, arts and crafts, as well as field trips to trampoline parks and bowling.

REGal is the River Edge Girls Athletic League and it offers programs for girls of all ages in a variety of sports. REGal started as a softball league in 1965 and has grown to one of the largest girls organizations in the state. They offer clinics, leagues, and travel teams in softball, basketball, running, volleyball, yoga, and field hockey.

River Edge Little League
River Edge Little League was founded in 1952 and has been an extremely popular program for boys of all ages to participate in baseball in River Edge. With both recreational and travel leagues there is spot for all abilities. Most games and practices occur at Memorial Field which boats 2 regulation little league fields. Older leagues play games at Keneth B Gorge Field which has a larger 90 foot basepath field.

River Dell Soccer
The River Dell Soccer Association runs leagues at the recreational level for boys and girls form Kindergarten to 8th grade in River Edge and Oradell. They use fields in both River Edge and Oradell and mostly play in the Fall. River Dell Soccer also runs the River Dell Blackhawks that is the travel soccer part of the club. Travel teams are available for both boys and girls and leagues run in the Fall and Spring.

River Dell Junior Football
The River Dell Junior Football Association serves both River Edge and Oradell and provides programs for children in flag football, peewee, junior, and senior. Practices and games are held each fall and are held in both towns depending on age level. Their teams participate in the Northern Bergen Junior Football League.

River Dell Junior Cheer
River Dell Junior Cheer helps to develop a love of cheerleading in girls as young as 3rd grade. They practice so they can cheer on their classmates at River Dell Junior Football games. The season runs from September to November.
River Edge Junior Basketball
River Edge Junior Basketball is for boys and girls from 1st to 9th grade. Teams have practices and games in town gymnasiums from November to March.

River Dell Lacrosse
River dell Lacrosse introduces young athletes to the fast paced game that is one of the newer sports in town. Teams are created from grades 1st-8th for both boys and girls. Practices and games are held in the Spring each year.
